Programme European and International minor

...the international start of your future

Welcome to the minor course "European and International Orientation” (EIO). The course is meant for students who have proceeded to the second half of their teacher training curriculum, usually students in their third or fourth study year. The minor is open to students from the Netherlands or abroad.

Curriculum of three or five months

The curriculum consists of eight modules (IM1 to IM8), which are subdivided in different components. There is a three months as well as a five months curriculum. The first module is a general orientation on the course, which is compulsory for all students. The remaining seven modules are optional and taught in a consecutive period of time. The module Dutch language and culture is taught throughout the whole period of the course, parallel to the other modules. Teachers of the Edith Stein Teacher Training College teach the modules. For every module there is a study guide/reader, which contains the objectives that approach to be followed and the texts and assignments to be studied.

Action research, international projects and school practicals

Apart from the study and content tasks there are possibilities to carry out action research, as well as to prepare international projects at schools. Once a week the students from abroad follow a school practical in a Dutch primary school together with the Dutch students.
